The Battle For Boobies Rages On
Uncle AndrewWell, better late than never. Much better, in fact. Margaret finally got around to compiling her journal for the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk in 2002, and asked me to put it online. You can look at it here.
Her timing is excellent, since she and some friends will be taking on the Seattle 3-Day again this year, and she will need y’all’s help. So get your coin purses ready; we’ll be begging for your contributions soon enough. 😉
Since the walk has been over for a while (thank goodness; she’d be dragging herself along on two bloody femur stubs by now) and the entry is pretty long, I have edited the timestamp to make it appear August 31, 2002 on the calendar. This means, among other things, that comments for that entry are closed. If you’d like to leave comments regarding her journal, post them here.
UPDATE: Okay, I’ve fixed the journal. Apparently is was too long for WordPress to handle, so I broke it into three parts. Thanks, Val, for the heads-up!

“She read the…” the WHAT? The journal entry I’m read was cut off in mid-sentence right
after decon unit. You can’t leave us hanging!
Ahem. “Tooleydingles”? I live in them thar tooleydingles, and I’ll have you know I prefer
the moniker “the sticks.” Oh, now that you know more of what to expect, you and your team
are more than welcome to stay at our place the night before, if the 3-day starts out from teh
Enumclaw Fairgrounds that is. I dangle the temptation of one extra hour of sleep and a
hearty breakfast at The Kettle before your dazzled eyes….
Do you suppose the lady with the “quaalude soaked voice” would have improved with cranking up
the speed, kind of like we did with that relaxation tape back in ye golden undergrad days?
Remember the tension “d r a i n i n g , d r a i n i n g , d r a i n i n g” out of
your body became “drainingdrainingdrainingoutofyourbody” which always set us into a fit of
hysterical end-of-quarter giggles? Nah, me neither.
I’m terribly sorry to hear about your grandmother, and I’m glad you were able to see her. I
know it must have been terribly hard on you to have both things going on at once.
Love ‘ya. Count me in as a pledge, I’m eagerly awaiting the info in my mailbox.
