I just finished making up the mix for an ice cream social we’re attending tomorrow, something put on every year by members of Margaret’s extended family.
Some of you may recall (fondly or fearfully) my chocolate-habanero ice cream from previous years. This time I decided to try something just a hair different: an almond-habanero. It’s pretty tasty, Also rather sprightly. 😯
A couple of socials ago some old biddy came rushing up to our ice cream maker when we opened it up to check the consistency and stuck her finger in the still-runny mix. “Thanks!” she bleated smugly, jamming her finger into her mouth. Then she screamed. That memory is still sufficient to lift my spirits whenever I’m feeling down. 😛
